Design for Print

POA

Despite the reduction in printed media, print is still very much alive as an industry. Though magazines, catalogues and newspapers have dwindled in appeal with the advent of digital mediums, printing on physical material remains an important factor in modern business.

Your business card is but one example of something most businesses still routinely print.

Designing for print purposes is a separate discipline of its own. When print is to be designed there are a multitude of factors to consider that would not apply in digital design. For example, the texture of the material on which the design will be printed is highly important. Whether the printed finish will be smooth to the touch, matt, glossy, embossed or debossed must also be decided.

Metallic printing is also available, something screens on computers or phones have yet to be able to replicate.

All of these different print methods have a bearing on the impression of the finished piece and can benefit or damage your company’s image accordingly.

As such, designing for print is something that must be taken seriously and properly considered, planned and advised on before being completed.

If you need something designed and printed, whether that’s something as small as a USB stick, as routine as a business card, as complicated as a product packaging, or as large as a billboard, please get in touch.

Our design consultants will contact you to discuss your printing requirements. The design of your printed material will be discussed in detail, with the focus being on the desired impression of it someone will have when they hold it in their hand or touch it, or on what you want them to do when they have it in their hand or touch it.

The focus is on the outcome, not just about making it look nice, but on making sure it has a lasting impression.

Design for print is a two-step process, beginning with the design phase and then the printing, so please be sure to contact us in plenty of time to get the design and print completed before your deadline date.
