Letting the world know you exist
The most forgotten stage of the start-up journey is the marketing. You can build the best app in the world but if you don't have any money to tell people about it no one will use it.
This is something we make sure you're aware of long before you get to that stage, this ensures that you've budgeted for it, your investment includes a significant proportion for marketing activity and you're fully aware of the work involved in getting a great idea to market. Typically, marketing costs will be multiples of your construction costs. In other words, if you've spent say £20,000 in the first year of developing your app or software idea, you're realistically going to have to expect to spend £100,000 AT LEAST on the first year of marketing.
The making or breaking of a digital business is its marketing.
Getting the right messages, worded in the right way, to the right people, at the right time and regularly is a complicated and skilled discipline. Brand building is long term, it takes time, patience, persistence and, most importantly of all, a strategy. You need to know what you are setting out to achieve and how you intend to go about achieving it. Advertising is a very effective way of wasting an awful lot of money if it isn't done right.
Proper marketers know it is results-driven. They also know that sometimes it is a quick process, other times, not so much. Establishing a strategy, a means by which to test and measure the effectiveness of your campaigns and a clearly defined brand objective are paramount to ensuring success.
We are here to help make it work.
App Marketing Costs
Marketing, like all the other parts of the process is costed against its scope and scale.
However, you should be aware that marketing is a large, ongoing cost. It cannot be left to chance, it can't be kind of done bit by bit or sporadically. It must be planned out and delivered consistently and purposefully. Furthermore, it needs to be overseen and measured by someone experienced in running marketing campaigns and delivering results. All of which carries a cost.
Not just the cost of the marketing activity needs to be considered, but also the costs of managing the marketing activity, which we would argue is more important; You put a bad manager in charge of a good football team and they'll start losing matches.
The likely costs of your marketing will be discussed and estimated with you before investment pitches are prepared and business plans are finalised.
